What kind of injuries can I go see a doctor for?
There are basically three different types of doctors for injuries: primary care doctors, urgent care doctors, and emergency care doctors. For life-threatening health conditions or any conditions that may be life-threatening, the only option for care is an emergency care doctor at the ER (emergency room). Only emergency care doctors are equipped to handle life-threatening conditions.
For any non-life-threatening but still urgent health conditions, you can go see an urgent care doctor. This type of doctor is able to take on minor and urgent injuries like simple sprains or minor burns, and can see you immediately without the need for an appointment. This is more than just convenient when you’re injured and there’s a risk of the injury becoming worse, like with a minor fracture.
For non-life-threatening and non-urgent health conditions, you can go see a primary care doctor. However, if you want the quickest treatment available, you might just want to see an urgent care doctor instead, as this doctor can easily handle non-urgent conditions too. Here at Primary Care 360, we have both primary care and urgent care doctors!
Can I walk in if I have any injuries?
Generally, primary care doctors aren’t able to see patients on a walk-in basis, but urgent care and emergency care doctors are able to. This means you can simply walk-in for on-the-spot care if you go to urgent care or emergency care. Remember, emergency care is for major, life-threatening injuries and urgent care is for minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency care can handle any and all major injuries and urgent care can handle any minor injuries. Sometimes, though, it can be hard to tell whether an injury is major or minor. If you can’t tell, then be safe and go to the ER.
Can walk-in clinics treat fractures?
Urgent care clinics are commonly known as walk-in clinics, and they can treat any minor injuries, including minor fractures. Sometimes, however, a fracture can be major and life-threatening, requiring attention at the ER. For example, if a person has a fracture and the bone is puncturing the skin, this is a life-threatening fracture. Simple fractures, though, can be treated at an urgent care clinic like ours.
At Primary Care 360, our primary and urgent care doctors can handle any minor injuries, and we’re available for walk-in appointments so you or a loved one can get immediate care right on the spot. Come see us today if you need our services here at Primary Care 360!
